Before your Vietnam E-Visa application is submitted, our pre-check reviews the key document requirements to help reduce avoidable errors and delays.

Passport Requirements

Your passport should be valid for the required period covering your intended Vietnam E-Visa stay. The passport details entered in the application must match the passport exactly.

Our pre-check looks for:

  • Valid passport with sufficient remaining validity
  • Clear, readable passport biodata page
  • Accurate passport number, name, date of birth and nationality
  • Clear machine-readable zone (MRZ) where applicable
  • No blurred, cropped or partially hidden passport information

Passport Photo

A recent passport-style portrait photo is required for the E-Visa application.

For a smoother application, provide:

  • Clear front-facing photograph
  • White background
  • No hat or glasses
  • Good lighting and clear facial visibility
  • Photo meeting the application system's image requirements

The official Vietnam E-Visa instructions specify a front-facing portrait without a hat or glasses and with a white background.
